3 ingredients, super easy recipe, here we go!
These caramelized pecans are so delicious because the bitterness from the pecan nuts balances out the sweetness of the caramel.
These nuts are perfect for garnishing anything, let it be Banoffee Pie or Coffee and Pecan & Walnut cake, shown left.
But they are also delicious eaten just like that, or simply eaten with some yoghurt or with some fruit, anything you like!
You could also use brown sugar instead of caster, it would look like on the photo above. If you do it with brown sugar though, the consistency of the syrup will be different, the syrup will stick together and difficult to take apart and so when you pour it over the nuts it might clump up together, so the best way is to drizzle it over the nuts with a spoon to help you.
Oh and I nearly forgot, I just mentioned Banoffee Pie, if ever you want to make one (it's so delicious), find the recipe here.
Ingredients:
75 grams pecan nuts
80 grams of dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons of water
Instructions:
Place the pecan nuts of a piece of parchment paper on a baking tray with sides and leave aside.
Place the sugar in a saucepan and melt it on a low heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Add in the water and mix well.
Pour the sugar syrup over the pecan nuts and keep pouring over with a spoon the syrup that will run off the pecan nuts to make sure they are all coated and leave to cool.
That's it! Less than 5 minutes of your time for these crunchy buts of goodness and now you can do whatever you like with them.
